View Menu: The view menu lets you choose which toolbars are visible. Close the toolbars that you don't use to save space for viewing websites (unless you have a huge monitor). You can also change text colors and sizes to suit you.

Go Menu: The "go" menu will show the last few places that you've visited so that you can return to them easily. For example, the picture below shows nba.com (sports scores), tucows.com (software downloads) and yahoo.com (search engine, games, etc.).

Favorites Menu: The favorites menu gets a lot of use. You can go to a website and then click "favorites -> add page to favorites" to put that in your favorites drop-down menu shown below. You can also choose "organize favorites" to create sub-folders. In the example below, there is an "Apple" folder with an arrow to the right. Clicking on the arrow would show various websites in that folder. Notice how putting your mouse pointer over the "organize favorites" option shows three new options: New Folder, New Favorite and New Divider. The "divider" is the line between "subscribe" and "auction favorites" in the following example. You can also create "subscriptions" that will notify you when a website has been updated. Subscriptions are also setup in your preferences. <click here for more setup info> The "auction favorites" is for organizing online auctions that you might participate in. The "toolbar favorites" option will allow you to create shortcuts on the top of the toolbar in your internet explorer browser for places that you visit very frequently.

Tools Menu: The "tools" menu gives you more options for tracking online auctions. There is also a "download manager" for scheduling big downloads for late at night or whenever.

Window Menu: The "window" menu gives you options for displaying your favorites folder and surfing history. You can also "cycle" between different websites that you've already visited but wish to revisit without typing in the address again. In the example below, you can see that my browser was open to nba.com because there was a checkmark next to that website when I took the picture shown below.

Finder Menu: The "finder" isn't actually part of Internet Explorer. It is part of your main Macintosh window in the top right-hand corner. In the picture below, Internet Explorer was in the foreground of the Macintosh window. By clicking on IE's blue "e" icon, you can switch back to the "finder" which is the main Macintosh desktop. You can then click on that icon again to go into Claris Works, return to Internet Explorer or whatever.
